Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of those actors who has made a place for himself in not just the heart of the masses, but amongst the elite class of cinema lovers too. While he continues to add more value to each role he portrays on the screen, there is something that he is quietly doing away from the limelight that definitely needs more applause and recognition.
I came across this video and must say, this is something we need to talk about and share.
Did you know that the actor, who comes from a background of farmers, spent more than 20 years farming himself?
The actor has now introduced an irrigation system in his hometown Budhana in Uttar Pradesh, which is extremely water efficient. The actor learnt about the Centre Pivot Irrigation System when he interacted with the farmers in France, when he was visiting the country for his Cannes appearance.
The system uses less than almost half the water that is otherwise required by other more popular and in use irrigation systems. The actor was so impressed with the technique that he got a sample made and sent it to his village. Even as water shortage hits the village and many parts of the country, the irrigation system can provide a better solution to the issues that farmers are facing.
From being someone who portrays his characters with all his heart and effort on the screen, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is definitely a real life planet saver, who is not just doing the talk, but acting it out for real too. A big thumbs up from our entire team!
